During the month of June, The Relief
Society will help you acquire and assemble the basics of a 72-Hour kit.
Please be putting aside some money so you can take advantage of this
opportunity.
When
a disaster strikes, your community emergency services and government
agencies will not be able to respond to your needs immediately. In
the event of an earthquake local emergency rescuers may need help
themselves. Their buildings, equipment, personnel,
communications, and mobility may be severely hampered by the event. They will
be overwhelmed. You will be relying on what you have prepared for your family.
OUR WARD LEADERSHIP wants you
to be prepared to be on your own for a minimum of three days after
a disaster. One of the most important elements of this preparedness
is the 72-hour kit for your home or office. The contents of this kit
will vary, but in every case it should contain the things you need to survive
for three days on your own. A list of
items to include in your 72-hour kits will be provided at a later time.
We are looking forward to helping your
family be prepared.
